I answered my friend’s question as follows…
For two reasons: 1) They are expert con men & women (Obama being the best in our country’s history), and 2) Ignorant, low IQ, ill-informed, self-serving and ideologically-driven voters. That is how they get elected.
“You nailed it,” he replied.
“You knew the answer as well,” I responded.
“Our real question is, how do we stop them; both the politicians and their voters? That’s a much tougher question to answer.”
I decided to give that question some thought, and this is all I could come up with…
We must end the politicians’ corrupt methods of getting elected, and then we must replace the corrupt politicians with true populists, which is precisely what Donald Trump is…a politician who works for the people (i.e. For the populace. The population. The people. What a concept!)
But here’s the problem: Washington, DC is like a giant magnet and corrupt individuals are like iron filings drawn to that giant magnet. There will always be a never-ending supply of corrupt individuals vying for those few powerful positions in our nation’s capitol. And there will always be corrupt con artists who will position themselves as populists when, in fact, they are nothing but corrupt, self-serving politicians.
It’s a self-perpetuating problem. Trump is simply unique: a billionaire who loves America. Someone who didn’t enter politics for the money, nor did he pursue the power of the presidency for self-serving reasons. He is a transformative, once-in-a-lifetime, leader. If he inspires “copycat’ leaders, America has a chance. If he doesn’t, we will be right back in that self-perpetuating loop.
Sadly, if I had to bet, I would bet that the corrupt politicians regain power once again.
It is the nature of Man.

I loathe the Schiffs, Shri's, AOCs...
Another huge problem is lawyers. Quite frankly we need a constitutional amendment that no lawyer can be in the executive or legislative branch. If you were ever a BARed attorney that should be automatically disqualifying for service in any legislative body. Allowing lawyers to write more laws is letting the fox into the henhouse.
